Back to School BBQ
H&S sponsors a Back to School BBQ for students, their families, and staff, as a great kick-off to the school year. Food, drinks, games, and music are all provided, free of charge! A great evening for all, with the promise of a great year ahead.

Fall Fair
The annual Fall Fair is our major fundraising initiative that allows Dorval Home & School to accumulate funds for several activities spanning all grade levels; like subsidized field trips and the Year End Carnival. This is a fun event for all ages and a great way to spend a few hours on Saturday. Come spend some time browsing for goods made by local artisans, purchase baked goods provided by the DES parent community, try your luck at our fun cake walks, raffle, and auction or find a good read in our book nook. Kids can have a great time in our “Kids Zone”, either shopping or getting their faces painted! Come join in the fun, and if possible, give us an hour of your time to volunteer at this great event which truly gives back to our children throughout the year.

Pizza Lunches
H&S organizes the ordering, pick-up and distribution of pizza lunches every second Thursday, giving students the opportunity to have a hot (kid-friendly!) meal!

Staff Appreciation – February
The dedicated staff at DES work very hard every day; and we all want to show much we appreciate them! During staff appreciation week in February, we try to do just that by providing staff with a potluck lunch supplied by the parent community, little fun treats every day which can range from school supplies to flowers to sweets, a coffee cart, and much more. We really are lucky to have such great staff at DES and this week gives us the chance to give back a little.

Year-End Carnival – June
The Year-End Carnival is a highly anticipated H&S sponsored event that allows DES families and staff to come together in celebration of another successful school year. The Carnival has everything for good fun with family, friends, & staff – be sure to come and enjoy something to eat, carnival games, music, and great company!

The events listed above are the major events sponsored and organized by the DES Home & School, but there are many other initiatives that the H&S are responsible for.

All of these events would not, could not, be possible without the help of its volunteers. The volunteers for each of these events are comprised of parents of the DES students. Even one hour of time at any, or all, of these events goes a long way to ensuring the continued success and continuation of these events.
